After graduating from law school in 1996, Betsy began her legal career practicing primarily in the areas of real estate and debtor bankruptcy. In 1998, Betsy accepted a position with a law firm that afforded her the opportunity to build and manage that firm’s foreclosure/default servicing department, and after more than seventeen years of legal practice in the default servicing area, she joined Stern and Eisenberg Southern, PC, and practices primarily in the areas of foreclosure, bankruptcy, evictions and litigation. Having practiced before South Carolina judges for twenty-one years, Betsy knows how to move a case forward efficiently, utilizing her ability to think creatively as needed to move cases along in the best interest of her client. In 2011 and again in 2016, Betsy was included among Greater Columbia Business Monthly’s “Legal Elite.” Betsy enjoyed serving as the Richland County Master in Equity Bench Bar Liaison from 2013 to 2015. Over the years, Betsy has participated in client training, and firmly believes that it is vital for attorneys to be directly accessible to clients.
